Fitness, Iron Level Can Improve Grades In Girls


Is your daughter’s grade dropping? Regular exercise and intake of green vegetables, nuts, cereals and dairy can increase the iron level in girls which subsequently can improve your daughter’s grade.

A recent study revealed that on average female students who are healthy and take proper care of their fitness achieved higher grade points than any unhealthy female students who have the deficiency of iron in the body.

 According to the Karsten Koehler, assistant professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the US, “Low iron stores and low aerobic fitness may prevent female college students from achieving their full academic potential.”

Iron helps the body to regulate properly as it transports oxygen in the blood. A Deficiency of iron in the body can cause anemia, fatigue, exhaustion, frequent infection. All this can cause lower work capacity and poor academic performance.

For this study total, 105 women took part with an average GPA (grade point average) of 3.68 to know the relationship and impact of fitness and iron deficiency on grade point average. The results of this study showed that Women with normal ferritin- blood cell proteins that contain iron and higher fitness have higher GPA than women with low ferritin and low fitness.
