PREGNANCY WITH TWINS – HOW TO MAKE IT TRUE

Getting pregnant with twins is definitely an amazing thing for any parent. If you have family history of twins then there are more chances of having twins. But this is not the only criterion; there are many other factors also like age, supplements, diet, BMI, infertility treatments and way of life.

There are two types of twin. One is identical twins when a fertilized egg divides into two and fraternal twins when two eggs are being fertilized by two different sperm. Generally, if the woman have the history of having twins by her mother and sister then they are more likely to give birth to twins. The reason is hyperovulation, when woman releases multiple eggs.

There are women having no genetic history still given birth to twins. Factor like age of mother is very decisive factor. As per CDC data there are just two percent women under 25 years who gave twins birth as compared to five percent of those aged between 35 to 39 years. With growing age and status of high fertility, the chances of twin birth also increases because of increased production of follicle stimulating hormone resulting in multiple egg releases during menstrual cycle.

Mostly, women taking fertility treatments give birth to twins because of increased use of infertility treatments like in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and ovulation stimulation.

Folic acid and multivitamin supplements also influence the chances of having twins. Taking folic acid and multivitamins pre and post conception makes the higher chances of having twins.

So just take care of yourself and take proper consultation if you wish to conceive and give birth to twins.
