New mothers are under tremendous pressure, not just for their style of parenting or the choice of nutrition (breastfeeding or bottle-feeding) for their newborn, but also for losing the pregnancy weight. It’s tougher for celebrities, where actresses are put under the scanner and expected to bounce back to pre-pregnancy weight within weeks.

So, when Hollywood actor Blake Lively shared the story of her dramatic weight loss (she lost 27kg in 14 months) on Tuesday, she got a lot of love online. The actor took to Instagram to share a photo with her trainer Don Saladino, who helped her lose the weight. Lively gave birth to her second daughter, Ines with husband Ryan Reynolds last year.

The actress showed off her newly-toned body with this picture on Instagram. Lively took 14 months post-baby to shed all the pregnancy weight, without rushing into it. She wrote, “Feeling very proud.”

Her followers praised her for taking time to lose the weight, without giving in to the pressure. In fact, her fans also said that they loved her even with her weight. “Thanks for being so real!!! You look awesome, that hard work pays off,” one comment read.

Lively wrote: “Turns out you can’t lose the 61 lbs (27kg) you gained during pregnancy by just scrolling through Instagram and wondering why you don’t look like all the bikini models.” With this post, Lively set a positive attitude towards post-pregnancy weight loss.

Earlier, during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lively’s trainer Saladino had said that she never punished herself for cheat meals.

Lively’s post has received over 1.9 million likes and thousands of comments.
