Recipe: 2 Christmas Inspired Strawberry Recipes By Chef Amrita Kaur

Desserts are the perfect ending to every good meal. Actually, they don’t have to be at the end. For people like me, I can make a meal out desserts. I know I have some people smiling and nodding!

So we thought we should bring some sweetness into everyone’s lives as we close the year. We got Chef Amrita Kaur to come and teach us some super easy recipes which are perfect for the holiday season. Godrej Nature’s Basket was the perfect host for this FB Live where Chef Amrita, whose a food stylist and food blogger taught a few young chefs to make two desserts using the goodness of strawberries and chocolate.

This was an extremely fun and interactive session where Amrita quizzed the kids on the recipe and other nutritional facts about the ingredients.

So the first recipe that she taught us was a No-Bake Strawberry Christmas Cheesecake Tart.

You can easily make with your budding chefs at home. You can watch the video below to know how she put it all together.

To make 4 small tarts

  • 6 Marie/Digestive Biscuits
  • 1 Tbsp melted Butter
  • Pinch of Salt
  • ½ Cup Cream Cheese
  • 1 Cup Whipped Cream
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Strawberry Puree
  • Juice of half a Lemon
  • ¼ Cup Castor Sugar
  • 4-5 Strawberries
  • Sugar sprinkles for garnish

  • Combine crushed biscuits with melted butter and salt and mix well. Press it on bottom of tart shells. Set aside.
  • Soften the cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Add strawberry puree, lemon juice & caster sugar and mix it really well using a whisk or a spatula.
  • Finally fold in the whipped cream. Pour this batter onto the crushed biscuits filled tart shells.
  • Arrange strawberry slices in shape of Christmas tree and garnish with some sugar sprinkles.
  • Refrigerate to set for an hour. It’ll be easy to take them out of tart shells once they have set well.

The second recipe that she did with the kids is a dessert in disguise – Chocolate Flower Pot Disguise. This decadent chocolate mousse looks absolutely amazing. When you see the end result you’re sure to go running to your kitchen to whip this up now! Watch the video to learn the steps as Chef Amrita Kaur walks you through the recipe.
