Winter makeup: foundation hacks you should know if you have dry skin

  • If you have dry skin you must be very careful with foundations. Not wearing the right foundation can make your skin look even drier and flakier. Here are a few hacks that might come to your rescue.

  • Mix moisturizer with the foundation: Opt for oil-based moisturiser instead of the liquid-based one to keep your dry skin hydrated.

  • Don't forget to exfoliate first: Exfoliate all the dry, dead skin from your face before applying foundation. This will help give you a better finish.

  • Swipe your foundation brush downward: Swiping upwards will make your dry skin flakes and pores be more evident and the foundation tends to fill in the pores.

  • Choose a liquid foundation with a dewy finish: Foundations with dewy finish do not make your skin drier, instead makes it look hydrated and give you a great glow.

  • Use soft foundation brush instead of fingertips: Do not use fingertips to apply your foundation if you have a dry skin. This is because using fingertips dabs the foundation instead of blending it which gives your face a cakey, dry finish.
