HSPs feel pain more intensely
One of the harder things about dating a highly sensitive person is that their pain threshold is negligible. The slightest prick can hurt, and sometimes, it can be hard to fathom why they’re reacting so much about such a small thing. One thing to remember is that they’re probably not faking the pain. Show your HSP some compassion.
HSPs feel more deeply
In general, HSPs feel more strongly about things. Crying while watching a soppy movie comes easily to them, and they always put themselves in others’ shoes, especially if the other person is hurt or upset. They experience others’ difficult moments as if they’re their own.
HSPs get overwhelmed easily
It’s normal for a highly sensitive person to want a break from everything that’s happening around them. Since they feel all too much, don’t be surprised if you find your HSP wringing his/her hands in despair while fighting traffic or just sitting there stupefied when they’re given the lead on a project. This, however, doesn’t mean that they’re not skilled or strong enough.
HSPs are very observant
It’s time you got used to the fact that your HSP probably notices things that you normally miss out on. Highly sensitive people are very perceptive and are naturals at reading between the lines. So just forget about saying something they don’t want to hear while hoping that it got masked beneath all of the other inane stuff!
HSPs love more passionately
Lastly, it would be an understatement to say that your HSP loves you deeply and passionately. With all the madness that comes with being highly sensitive, one of the nicer things about it is that HSPs give it their all in relationships. They have all the qualities of a good lover—they’re empathetic, compassionate, loyal and truthful, and will love you like you’ve never been loved before.
