This New Hillary Clinton Ad Hits You Right in the Feels
Hillary Clinton, who in the past has been accused of coming across as cold, gets choked up in a new ad on immigration policy.
The ad, which was filmed during a Q&A session in Las Vegas on Valentine’s Day, features a little girl telling Hillary that her parents have a letter of deportation. “I’m scared that they’re going to be deported,” she says, tearfully.
“Come here, babe,” Hillary replies. She then puts her arm around the girl, whose name isn’t provided, and says, "I'm going to do everything I can so you don't have to be scared, and you don't have to worry about what happens to your mom or your dad or somebody else in your family.”
A misty-eyed Hillary tells the girl that she’s being “very brave,” adding “you have to be brave for them, too. They want you to be happy, they want you to be successful, they don't want you to worry too much."
She then tells the girl that she’ll “do the worrying,” and says, “I’ll do everything I can to help, OK?” The camera pans to show a few women wiping away tears as the crowd applauds.
The ad is currently running in Nevada, where the Democratic caucuses are taking place this Saturday.
