On a few recent trips I flew with Ursa Major's Traveler's Skin Care Kit ($41, Buy It Here) in my Dopp kit. This box from the Vermont-based brand includes five sealed, single wipes for your face, a moisturizing balm, a sprayable tonic that exfoliates and cleans your skin, and a 2-ounce bottle of face wash–all loaded up with familiar natural ingredients like cedar, carrot, and aloe, just to name a few. They smell fresh, but not overly strong.
Each face wipe is separately packed, so it's easy to stick a few in your pocket–no digging through the backpack you just stuffed because your carry-on was over the weight limit. (Pro tip: They're perfect to store at your desk or in your gym bag, too.) Just tear the top and wipe away any dirt or oil when you're stuck in the car or waiting on the tarmac, and you don't have to worry as much about getting a pimple or having a shiny forehead.
Your Fool-Proof Travel Uniform:
Likewise, the face wash, which smells and makes you feel like you're hanging out in the woods, is more than enough for over a week's worth of use and doesn't take up any space. And I've finally found a moisturizer I don't want to skip: the Fortifying Face Balm. Once I rub it in, it doesn't feel like it's still caked on my face, and I know even the smallest amount is doing its job.
You don't have to buy the entire set of products. If you're a fan of the wipes but don't need the full kit, you can pick them up in a bigger pack of 20 that'll last you for a few more weeks. And yes, you can get the face wash, balm, and tonic separately, too.
Sure, the kit's meant for traveling. But even when I'm not living out of my backpack and I'm back in my apartment, I'll be using these products for a long time.
