The Wildest Colours Take Center Stage On Day 4 Of NYFW

We love prints for sure, but to witness solid hues represented in a new form on Day 4 of New York Fashion Week Fall’18 was amazing. With colours taking the centre stage, the focus on all the sartorial details was top notch. Whether drapes or structured silhouettes, each outfit was placed in a different light. Scroll through the list to check out the collections that were our favourite from Day 4:

1. Victoria Beckham

Keeping to the essence of the brand with sharp, tailored lines, Victoria Beckham experimented with the shapes. With more focus on the structure, the military palette built on textures and pleats. The contrasting elements were the oversized handbags of the collection.

2. Tibi

The architectural influence was very evident in this collection. Also, the way the same colour family garments were styled to make a monochrome outfit was done in a genius way. Prints appeared in contrast to equally bold colours, and there were no inhibitions when it came to the vibrant hues on the runway.

3. Sies Marjan

Speaking of hues, the play between the tints and shades was mesmerising at Sies Marjan’s presentation. From the twisted rose detail at the waist to the structured trench coat, the collection was breathtaking, to say the least. Even here we spotted a few oversized handbags.

4. Tanya Taylor

The colour mix and the print play by Tanya Taylor were phenomenal. The contrasting textures were very well juxtaposed throughout the modern collection.

5. Brandon Maxwell

With the ’80s disco light fluttering in the background, Brandon Maxwell’s show was intended as a throwback. But the refined version of the past presented for the modern times was right on point. Though there were some basic separates, they had a glamorous makeover. The one thing we loved the most about the collection was the focus on the waist through different silhouettes. The dangler earrings definitely added to the glam that he showcased on the runway.

6. Prabal Gurung

You wouldn’t realise how close to home Prabal Gurung’s collection was until you understand his colour palette. This time he replaces his slogan tees with the shades of pink that was inspired by a female activist group of India called Gulabi Gang and a matriarchal tribe from China called Mosuo. Associating the light tones with the strength, he contradicted the softness associated with pink. The array of tints and shades of pink complemented with blue stood proudly on the ramp.
