Here's a pretty awesome reason to add an orgasm to your iCal: Women who rank sex as "important" in their lives are more likely to stay sexually active over time, according to a recent study published in JAMA Internal Medicine.

For the study, researchers at the University of Pittsburg distributed annual questionnaires to 354 sexually active women ages 40-65. The goal was to assess their sexual function (including arousal, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain), sexual activity, and how important sex was to them over time. At the end of the eight-year study, over 85 percent of the women were still getting busy on the regular.

So what was it that helped those lucky ladies keep their fires lit? Surprisingly, sexual function had nothing to do with it. Instead, it was women who reported placing a greater importance on sex who were more likely to stay frisky over the course of the study. Hey, it may be tempting to choose Netflix or sleep over sex every once in a while, but it obviously pays to make your pleasure a priority. Plus, getting a sexy calendar alert will pretty much make your day.
