The Nykaa Pout Perfect Velvet Matte Lip & Cheek Lipstick Is Your New Makeup Hero

Raise your hands up if you apply your makeup on on your way to work. Juggling lipsticks and blush while hanging on for dear life in the train or trying not to crash your car - we've all been there. So we're always looking for makeup that requires minimal effort but gives maximum results. Nykaa heard our prayers and decided to combine three products in one - The Nykaa Pout Perfect Velvet Lip & Cheek Lipstick can be used as a lip liner, lipstick and a blush. These nifty little products made their way to my beauty desk and I decided to give them to a try.

First impressions: the lip pencils glide on extremely easy on your lips, having a lip balmy type texture. They're super soft owing to the shea butter and Vitamin E in the formulation. I suffer from extremely chapped lips throughout the year, so I usually have to layer lip balm before applying any lip product, but these babies are super hydrating so I could skip the balm. Available in eight shades, there are nudes like Bare It Baby Doll that will suit fairer complexions, Sweet As Honey that works for olive to medium skin tones and Spice Baby that is perfect for dusky tones. The pinks ranges from Smell The Roses, a pale pastel pink to You Make Me Blush, which is a deeper, more blush tone while Ken To My Barbie is a bright fuschia shade. Red Hot Mess is the lone red from the range. My only complaint is that they haven't expanded the range to offer a few more dark shades for the lips but since it's a multi-tasking product I'm going to let that slide. The pencils also don't come with a sharpener. Though claiming to be matte, it isn't; it's more of a creamy formulation with a bit of shine. It also doesn't last too long on your lips - eat or drink something and within a couple of hours it's gone. It does work well as a blush, though, when you want a subtle flush, as it melts easily into your skin.

If you're wondering what the damage to your wallet is, it's super affordable - at Rs 499 a pop, you're essentially getting max bang for buck. Over all, I still think it's a great product that I'll stash in a heartbeat in my makeup pouch.
