Target Is Selling a Black-Owned Lipstick Brand - So Just Take Our Money Now!

If you haven't heard about the black-owned beauty brand The Lip Bar, then prepare for it to quickly become a new favorite. The line of lipsticks, lip glosses, and liquid mattes was created by Melissa Butler in 2012 in an effort to bring more diverse and inclusive colors to women of all skin tones. When the former Wall Street financial analyst presented it on Shark Tank, the judges passed. That's their loss, because starting on Feb. 18, the Lip Bar will be sold at Target.

"I think every woman deserves to be represented. So I do this not for the love of makeup, but for the love of women who are unapologetically themselves and the women working up the courage to be. So if you want to have beautiful, high-performance products in the most amazing packaging, you have come to the right place," Melissa wrote on the brand's website. "If you want vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics that are affordable, you have come to the right place. And if you want to feel like you belong to a beauty community that understands that there is no wrong way to do you, yes, babe, you have come to the right place."

The cream lipsticks ($12-$13) not only give you a pop of color, but also keep your lips hydrated because each one is made with shea butter, avocado oil, vitamin E, and coconut oil. The liquid matte collection ($13) contains almond oil and the lip glosses ($14) are supposed to feel like a lip balm with a shiny finish.

Right now, you can find these magical products at 44 Target stores across the country, with that number growing to 100 in May. If that isn't enough, The Lip Bar is launching two exclusive shades at Target: the lip gloss Baddie and liquid matte Unimpressed. Cheers to another woman of color doing her damn thing!
