THIS Is What the Gym Locker Room of Our Dreams Would Look Like

Back in high school, the guys on the sports teams were perfectly content to strip down in front of each other before and after practice (at least, that's what TV shows would have us believe). But today's young men would like a little more privacy, according to a recent article in The New York Times (hilariously headlined, "Men’s Locker Room Designers Take Pity on Naked Millennials"). The piece explores how gyms are now catering to millennial dudes' preference to not put their junk on display for all of their fellow exercisers to see. "It’s funny," Kevin Kavanaugh, the president of David Barton Gym, told The New York Times. "They’re more socially open with everything—Facebook, social media—yet more private in their personal space."

We're happy to hear that gyms are taking notice of what people are looking for in locker rooms. And, in case any chains are looking for some design input, we put together the above fantasy blueprint.

Oh, and if they could get those motivational messages to be from Oprah, Beyoncé, and Amy Poehler and play them on repeat, that'd be great, too. xo, WomensHealthMag.com
