While eating too much before you start exercising is not advisable, you should give your body the adequate amount of fuel so that it can function properly and help you reap the benefits of the workout. Here are a few signs you should watch out for to figure out whether you are eating enough before working out.

When you are doing a moderate-high workout without having enough food, your blood sugar levels will drop, making you feel faint and dizzy. Minus the energy, the body will feel sluggish and lethargic, making it tough for you to finish the exercise routine.

Without adequate calories, you won't be able to work out as hard as you should. Imagine getting on the treadmill and not being able to run fast enough or not being able to complete a circuit? Depriving your body of carbs, which is its main source for fuel, would mean that the body will be running low on energy, which will prevent you from working out properly. When you’re not properly fueled, you will be too tired to push through as many reps.

If it doesn't get enough to eat, your body will burn muscle tissue or even organ tissue to create energy. That will cause a loss in muscle mass, which means your muscles will grow smaller and your body will become weaker. It will also slow down your metabolism, making the body go into starvation mode and store all the energy that it gets, making it nearly impossible for you to lose weight.
