Recall Alert! This Popular Hair Dryer Could Be a Burn Hazard

If you prefer your bathroom fire-free and your hands unburned, then you might want to invest in a new hair dryer. That's because the US Consumer Product Safety Commission has just recalled a popular heat tool sold at Target, Amazon, Groupon, and other retailers. If you own an ISO Beauty Ionic Pro 2000 dryer, it's time to turn it in.

According to the recall notice, this news impacts owners of 73,000 dryers sold between March 2013 and January 2018. The brand has received 35 reports of "dryers sparking or smoking" and "two reports of flames coming from the dryers." Three people reported burns to their hands or fingers as a result of using the Ionic Pro.

If you're unsure if you have this specific model, here are some details on what it looks like. "ISO" or "Proliss" is printed on the bottom rear of the tools. The model number is HD-1820. The Ionic Pro was sold in black, white, white pearl, peacock, white zebra, pink leopard, blue, and giraffe prints.

Should you own one, you're urged to stop using it and contact ISO Beauty. The brand will teach you how to remove the faulty cord and will send you a new, safe replacement.

This unsettling news comes just after Amazon pulled an OraCorp hair dryer from its virtual shelves after a customer shared a video of it shooting flames. If this makes you want to air-dry your hair tonight, here are some great styling products.
