Shannon Boxx (Soccer)
Boxx has three goals for Beijing: "I want to improve on my role to the best of my ability. If that's to be a defender and let no one go through the center, or to score a few goals, I want to do everything possible to do that. Second, my goal is to help this team to win the gold medal. Third, I really want to enjoy the experience. The Olympics is such an honor to be a part of, and I don't want to forget that. Only a few people even make it to the Olympics, and I want to take it all in. It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing."

Her least favorite part: "When I fall. It happens to the best of us. Not only is it hard to get off the track that day, its even harder not to have a little anxiety for your next race."

Alicia Sacramone (Gymnastics)
Though it may not look like it, uneven bars is Sacramone’s weakest of the four events (vault, bars, beam and floor). This year, she won't compete on bars at all.

Alicia Sacramone (Gymnastics)
Sacramone is best-known for her power on floor and vault. Some of the cool stuff she does? A half twist to a double front flip on floor (called an Arabian double front), and a front flip with 1 ½ twists on vault.

Sacramone was team captain of the U.S. team that won gold at the 2007 World Championships—only the second time the United States team has won at Worlds. She’s also earned an individual world gold medal on the floor.

"My main goal [for the Olympics] is to be a team captain, and lead them to a team gold medal," Sacramone says, "Individually I would like to come home with some medals too. I would love to win vault and/or floor!"
