It’s not the size of the boat that counts, it’s the—blah, blah. We all know the drill. And according to a new study, women aren’t B.S.ing about this: Size really doesn’t matter to most of us.

A new study of more than 2,000 people from DrEd.com, a U.K. website, found that only 11.2 percent of women said that penis size is “very important” to them. But, when pressed for details, participants shared their ideas of a best-case scenario peen.
Stateside, people from New Mexico say their ideal penis length is 15.2 centimeters (or just a hair under six inches). Tennessee and West Virginia are also down with smaller salamis, saying that 15.3 to 15.6 centimeters seems about right.
Unfortunately for dudes in Maine, there are big expectations up North. The biggest of all areas, in fact. People there think penises should be 19.3 centimeters, you know, about 7.5 inches. Wow.
Overall, the women surveyed said their ideal penis length is roughly six inches. Men, on the other hand, would love to have a peen that’s about 6.5 inches long. (Every bit counts?)
Researchers also broke down ideal penis size by country and state (#science) and found that people in Europe like ‘em big—those in Poland, Austria, and Italy all said they dig penises over 17 centimeters (nearly seven inches). The most forgiving country was the U.K., where the ideal penis length was 14.2 centimeters.
In case all these measurements have made you curious, research has found that the average erect penis is 13.2 centimeters, so the majority of the world needs to rein in expectations a bit. More precisely, they need to shorten them about 2.6 centimeters.
