Fact: Unlike earlier where kids were recommended not to have milk if suffer from cough and cold, paediatricians believe that drinking milk when suffering from cough does not cause any harm. In fact, the presence of nutrients in the milk can help in improving immunity.

    Myth: It is best to avoid milk after having a spicy meal. Fact: Having a glass of milk immediately after having a spicy meal hinders with digestion. In fact, it is advised to drink half a cup of diluted milk after 30 minutes of eating a spicy meal to lower acid production and improve digestion.

    Myth: Avoid drinking milk if taking antibiotics. Fact: Unlike popular belief, drinking milk when on antibiotics does not hinder the absorption of nutrients and does not lower the effectiveness of the medications. Moreover, as milk is rich in proteins it boosts your immunity, helping you to fight infections.

    Myth: Drink milk after eating fish causes white patches in the skin. Fact: There is no scientific evidence to back this theory that milk and fish combination is not good for the skin. You can have milk and fish either separately or combination but avoid drinking milk immediately after eating a spicy fish preparation as it can lead to indigestion or acid reflux.
