Ever looked at Kriti Sanon and wondered how she manages to consistently look that gorgeous? To put your mind at ease and help you get flawlessly glowing skin like her, we met with the actor and asked her to reveal her beauty secrets. And you would be surprised to know what she had to say.
Every time Kriti steps outdoors, she slathers a generous amount of sunscreen on to her skin. She says, “I can’t do without sunscreen. Sun can cause serious damage to your skin and the only way you can counter that is by using sunscreen.” However, applying it once in the morning is not enough. Experts recommend you reapply it every three hours to prevent tanning, pigmentation and dark spots.
Gets rid of makeup before going to bed
Being in show business means you need to have layers of makeup on, especially if you are facing the camera. Though Kriti can’t escape this, she diligently cleanses her skin before calling it a day. “I use a mild cleanser to remove all the makeup and properly wash my face every night. No matter, how tired I am, I never go to sleep with makeup on,” says Kriti. Just in case, you didn’t know what makeup could do to your skin if you sleep in it, here’s some dope—it could give you dry skin, spots and make your eyelashes brittle.
Moisturises her skin
Sneaky skin dehydrators lurk in surprising places such as your soap, acne medications and retinol creams. Use of the air conditioner and even the water you splash on your face could rip your skin of moisture. The best way to deal it with is to keep your skin moisturised. Kriti confesses that she uses moisturisers liberally on her face and hands.
To get glowing skin, it’s important to stay hydrated from within. Kriti doesn’t only drink a lot of water but she also helps detoxify her body with healthy vegetable juices. Her Instagram is teeming with images of the different interesting juices that she drinks.
Swears by home-made face packs
“The face packs that my mother makes with besan (gram flour) and turmeric or some dal (lentils) and almonds to which she adds a little cream have done wonders for my skin. It’s perfectly safe to use these natural ingredients and trust me they are quite effective,” says Kriti. FYI, gram flour has always been used as an exfoliator in Indian homes and turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
Watching what you eat will not only keep the extra kilos at bay but will also improve the texture and tone of your skin. “I generally avoid oily and spicy food. I eat more of fresh fruits and salads. I also try and include dried fruits such as almonds and walnuts in my diet,” she quips.
Works out daily
When you work out, you tend to sweat and the pores get unclogged of the dirt and grime, as a result you look fresher. Exercise also improves the flow of blood to the skin surface and allows it to process nutrients better and repair the damage caused by the sun and other environmental pollutants. Kriti knows this well and is particular about working out every day.
