Just more than a week after making Olympic history by defending her slopestyle title, Jamie Anderson took home silver in the women's big air competition. According to the Washington Post, Thursday's win makes her the first woman to medal more than once in snowboarding during a single Games.
Upon hearing this medal (her career third) tied her with snowboarding legends Shaun White and Kelly Clark, Anderson told the paper: “That’s crazy to me. It’s all pretty surreal. Just being able to be an Olympian is such a treat. But to come here and win medals is, wow, next level.”
Though the victory was history-making regardless, Anderson came thisclose to winning gold again; she fell on the last of her three runs (big air final scores are two of your best three runs totaled), allowing Austria's Anna Gasser to beat her by a little under 10 points, Sports Illustrated reports.
S'all good. She looks pretty amped with how things turned out. ????
