There’s a reason our moms told us the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach: it’s true.

But the tactic of baking and cooking your way to love usually gets you to a larger dress size, too. So I’ve rounded up my favorite healthy date-night recipes. Bon appétit!

Two-Minute Shrimp Scampi If like me, you’re an assembler, not a cooker of foods, this simple entrée is sure to lessen your stress level. Plus, with 91 calories, 14.1 grams of protein, and only 1.4 g of carbs, it won’t make you bloat. Hello, skinny dress!

Seared Sirloin with Shrooms From the guys at Men’s Health, serving up this hearty dish will impress any red-blooded male. You don’t want to look too prissy, do you? (Don’t tell him it has fewer than 400 cals!)

Bacon-Wrapped Scallops Everything is better with bacon. Serve by themselves for a sexy-time appetizer, or over brown rice, Shitake mushrooms, and asparagus for a meal that will keep you full until morning.

Alfredo, I Know It Was You Who hasn’t had alfredo on a date? But with whole-wheat spaghetti and part-skim ricotta cheese, you can forget carbo-loading and fuel up with 44.3g of protein!
