My workout routine includes walks, running, cycling, high-intensity cardio, and weights. Fitness secrets I unveiled:
You need to understand your body first. Just because something worked for someone else it may or may not work for you. Start loving your body and be patient to show it's love back to you. The secret is 70% nutrition, 25% workout and 5% rest. How do I stay motivated?
I remember the time when I was body shamed by friends and family and now when they appreciate my hard work it keeps me on my toes. How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?
I always buy an extra t-shirt for myself which is a size smaller and hang it right in front of my wardrobe to ensure that I don’t lose focus. What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?
It's the lack of self-confidence for me. What are the lifestyle changes you made?
I see this journey as a complete lifestyle change. Some of them:
1. Stopped my alcohol intake
2. No soft drinks or artificial sugar
3. Took stairs wherever possible
4. Walked as much as I could
5. Get at least 7 hours of sleep at a fixed bedtime
6. Asked myself every time I saw a tempting dish "is it worth to sacrifice on this? What was the lowest point for you?
The lowest point was when people used to comment on my obese self. Lessons learnt from weight loss:
1. It's a mixture of hard work and perseverance which leads to desired results.
2. Compare yourself with your own progress.
3. Make a schedule for yourself (nutrition and workout).
4. Carefully choose your trainer and be disciplined to whatever he says.
When I started this journey I had friends who lost a tremendous amount of weight so I was mentally prepared for the challenges that I will face and made myself ready for them in advance. Hence, it's the mind which decides and the body follows. If you have a weight loss story that can inspire others, mail us at [email protected]
