1) Stepping out with wet hair
This is for all the late runners out there! Even if you are scampering around like a headless chicken in the morning, do not make the mistake of leaving the house with your hair wet. When you do so, you’re basically attracting the pollution into your wet hair, which eventually sits in the hair shaft when it dries. Gross, right?
2) Brushing way too much
We get the need to constantly keep your tresses soft and silky, however that doesn’t mean you have a conjoined hairbrush to your hands. Over brushing can cause your hair to break easily, leaving you with untimely split ends. Even when you do detangle them, be extra careful and delicate when doing. Remember, you need to start from the bottom to avoid any breakage.
3) Not washing your brush
It’s disgusting, but we’ve all done it. Wash your brush regularly with shampoo and water, to remove dust particles and oil build up. This isn’t something you want sitting in your scalp every time you brush your hair. After each use, make sure to take out any strands stuck in the hairbrush.
4) Not masking
Your hair needs a little bit of TLC every now and then, therefore you need to provide it with all the essential nutrients to repair it from the outside, as well as the inside. A weekly hair mask will give your hair the strength it needs, whilst nourishing it for the week to come.
5) Washing your hair every single day
Washing your hair every day strips it off its natural oils, making it dull, dry, and completely brittle. Use a dry shampoo instead, in case you feel your hair is too greasy to deal with.
