Every Day Is Ladies' Day on the Mulberry Runway

Mulberry's Johnny Coca was inspired by "archetypes of Englishness" for the Spring 2018 show, and that meant a collection that paid homage to Royal Ascot, garden parties, afternoon tea (particularly the bone china it comes in) and romantic Edwardiana. Stiff ruffles, macaron hued suits, breezy Summer dresses, and some serious statement hats hit the star-studded London Fashion Week runway, before the mirrored centerpiece raised up to reveal singer Alison Goldfrapp, who closed the show with a belting performance.

Mulberry took over the decadent setting of Spencer House for the show, and now that it's over, the space has opened to the public. The "Beyond Heritage" event runs until Sunday and includes talks and workshops with Mulberry collaborators, and a pop-up shop featuring those fresh-off-the-runway creations. Mulberry is one of an increasing number of labels opting for a "see now, buy now" model, so assuming you can't get to London to take a look for yourself, you can shop the looks online now. Before you ask, yes, there are plenty of handbags, and they're as gorgeous as ever. Look out for pretty Marloes satchels in cobalt and pink, ruffle-trimmed Amberley satchels, and diagonal-striped designs in retro hues of burgundy, teal, and mustard.
