DIY- Here’s how you can make roll-on deodorant at home

Roll-on deodorants are essential. But while we use it every day we don’t realise the amount chemicals we are swiping on our body with it. You may try making a roll-on deodorant at home. It is a bit tedious but you know what’s going into it, therefore, is much safer than the one you’ll buy. Also, remember that you shouldn’t be sharing your roll-on deodorant with anyone so that you don’t share their germs.
Here’s how you can make your own roll-on deodorants at home with really simple ingredients.

Things you’ll need:

1/2 cup shea butter or cocoa butter
1/2 cup coconut oil
3 tsp beeswax
1/2 cup organic arrowroot powder
2-3 non-refrigerated capsules of high-quality probiotics (This will help eliminate the underarm odour)
20 drops of any essential oils that you want to smell like

Place a double boiler.
Once heated add coconut oil, any one of the butter and beeswax and keep stirring until it melts and mixes well.

Remove it from flame and wait for it to be warm from hot.

Now add arrowroot powder, empty the probiotics capsule and essential oils into the mixture.

A very hot mixture will kill the probiotic so only add probiotic once it’s cooled down or is warm.

Pour it into a stick deodorant container and let it harden at room temperature.

You can also make a liquid roll on which is way easier to make. Take 2 tbs of witch hazel, 1 tbs of distilled water, 20 drops of your favourite essential oil, a few drops of vegetable glycerin and half a tbs baking soda and cornstarch each. Pour all the ingredients without heat into a bowl, mix till it blends well and turns thicker. Pour it into a roll-on bottle with a ball in the mouth of the jar. Store in a cool place.
