Last week I downloaded Words with Friends onto my iPhone. My friends told it would change my life. It has—mostly by keeping me up all night trying to figure out a two-letter word that ends in “z.â€Â
But it really changed Megan Lawless’ life. It introduced her to her husband, Jasper Jasperse.
The Scrabble-like app set the two up as random opponents in November 2009. What began as simple greeting through the app sparked long conversations via email and Skype, according to the RedEye article I found this weekend on Twitter (of course!). Jasperse moved from the Netherlands to live with Lawless in Chicago and later the couple got married.
Needless to say, I just started a Words with Friends game with a random opponent.
