Celebs who donned ethnic wear on the Filmfare red carpet

Filmfare Awards is as much about celebrating the glory and glamour of Bollywood as much it's an occasion to spot some of the best red-carpet fashion every year. Its 2018 edition was no different. The stunners from the entertainment industry sashayed in dazzling outfits, but one trend that stood was ethnic wear. While some chose to don elaborate gowns, there were many others who made heads turn in their Indian wear outfits.

Vidya Balan, who is a self-confessed sari-lover, turned up in a black and gold drape, keeping it simple yet classy. Kalki Koechlin was a breath of fresh air in a summery yellow sari that she accessorised with bangles, dangling earrings and a clutch. TV actor Ankita Lokhande was a vision in a white sari paired with a silver blouse with intricate work and tassels. We also spotted Evelyn Sharma sport an anarkali, and singer Alka Yagnik in a delicate sharara.

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that red carpet is no longer just about gowns and western outfits; ethnic wear has stepped out of the ‘traditional’ closet, and is making an equally strong fashion statement. One brand that celebrates Indian wear like no other is Manyavar, Filmfare’s Celebration Wear partner. Its new collection Mohey boasts an elaborate and exclusive range of ethnic wear for all occasions that’ll make you stand out, just like these Bollywood stars.
