    Bajra is consumed during winters as it keeps the body warm. While bajra roti is a popular delicacy, most people find it bitter tasting. To solve that problem and make it easy for you to add bajra daily to your diet, here are some recipes you must try.

    Bajra soup or raab: A popular Gujarati dish, raab is considered as the ideal winter drink to keep all infections at bay. Whole spices like cloves, cinnamon, black pepper are sautéed in ghee and then mixed with bajra flour, water and jaggery for this soup. It helps soothe a sore throat too.

    Bajra masala cutlets: These shallow fried cutlets are perfect for breakfast or as an evening snack. Mix bajra flour with green chillies, fresh garlic, dried fenugreek and masalas along with curd. Roll cutlets and cook them on a nonstick pan with very less oil. Serve hot.

    Bajra khichdi: Whole bajra is soaked and then boiled with vegetables to make this one-pot meal. It is rich in nutrients and using ghee for tempering it makes it just apt for the weather. It’s a novel take on khichdi and a popular Gujarati and Rajasthani dish.
