Beauty and the boys! David Beckham to Will Ferrell: Male celebs who have their own grooming line | Latest News & Updates at Daily News & Analysis

It’s not just impeccable dressing that maketh the man. There’s also a whole lot of primping that adds to the overall look. The male grooming market has been experiencing a boom in the last few years, and while women may still have a plethora of beauty products to choose from, the macho sex isn’t far behind. The average male’s vanity kit has expanded to include cleansers, moisturisers, anti-ageing serums, beard oil, hair pomade and much more. And cashing in on this ever-expanding industry are a number of male stars who’ve their own product lines to their name.

David Beckham

David Beckham has established himself not just as a sports star but also a style icon. From his scruffy beard to his spiffy hairdos, and rugged tattoo-covered bod, his every look is studied and copied. The star recently revealed that he will be following in wife Victoria Beckham’s footsteps and launching his own grooming line, House 99 this March. The ‘99’ marks the year when he got married, his eldest son was born, and Manchester United won the treble. David’s collection, which will be available in 19 countries across the globe, features hair, skin, beard, and even tattoo products. Expect moisturisers, face washes, hair pomade and beard oil, too.

Ryan Seacrest

The TV show host teamed up with celebrity dermatologist Dr Harold Lancer to launch his own skin care line Polished by Dr Lancer. Launched last August, the products cover the essentials for a multi-step skin regimen, perfect for the metrosexual man. Ryan’s line includes an oil-free moisturiser, a daily micro-scrub, anti-ageing serum and a lip balm with SPF, all specifically created for men.

Rob Lowe

The award-winning actor may be in his 50s now, but still manages to set hearts aflutter. Rob Lowe launched Profile 4 Men Skincare a couple of years ago after researching male skin, particularly the size of pores, the thickness and oiliness factor. His line includes an anti-ageing serum, a cleanser, a shaving gel, a moisturiser, eye serum and cologne. Rob also plans to introduce hair-care products.

Smokey Robinson

The singer-songwriter made his foray into the grooming sphere when he and wife Frances launched Skinphonic. The brand has products for men and women, and specifically people of colour. Smokey and his wife spent a couple of years on research and development and after a lot of trial-and-error released the products in the market. The men’s products named ‘Get Ready Cause Here I Come’ feature a cleanser, serum, eye therapy cream, and a hydrating moisturiser.

Will Ferrell

The actor and comedian doesn’t have a full-blown grooming line like the other celebrities but does have a sunscreen to his name. Called Will Ferrell’s Super Mega Sexy Hot Tan, it comes in three varieties with SPF 30. Will worked with a team of skin scientists and a retired astronaut to create the product that was launched in aid of the Cancer for College, a charity that provides college scholarships for cancer survivors.

Dermot O’Leary

The TV show presenter and actor collaborated with  Marks and Spencer last year to create an affordable range of male beauty products. The 24.hr Grooming for Men, has six products, including a moisturiser, face scrub, eye serum and body wash, which Dermot insist he uses himself.
