Just in time for the holidays, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is out of jail after spending nearly a year behind bars.
Teresa, who was sentenced to 15 months back in October 2014 for fraud, gave herself a makeover in a prison bathroom during her release and sipped a cappuccino as soon as she got into a waiting car, People.com reports. "Prison was tough for her," a source told People, "but she made the best of it."Teresa is hardly the first female celebrity to go to jail…and she probably won’t be the last. Here are a few you may have forgotten about:
Martha served five months in jail in late 2004 and early 2005 for insider trading. At a conference last year, Martha called her prison sentence “a very difficult, nasty situation.”
Lil Kim was sentenced to a year and a day in prison in 2005 for lying to a federal grand jury about her friends’ involvement in a 2001 shooting outside an NYC radio station. She was released after 10 months.
In 2007, Paris served three weeks in jail for violating her probation in an alcohol-related driving case. In an interview from jail, she told E! News that it “changed my life forever.”
Lindsay’s first trip to jail was in November 2007, when she spent 84 minutes behind bars for possession of cocaine, driving under the influence, and driving with a suspended license.
She headed back to jail in May 2010 for 14 days after she violated probation terms stemming from a DUI arrest. She also spent part of a day in jail in September 2010 after failing a drug test. In November 2011, she spent five hours in jail after violating the terms of her probation after she was convicted of stealing from a jewelry store.
Former wild child Nicole spent less than 90 minutes in jail in 2007 after being sentenced to spend four days behind bars for DUI.
Michelle spent 48 hours in jail in 2004 after pleading no contest to charges of hit and run, drunken driving, and driving with a suspended license. She headed back to jail for five days in 2006 after being charged with DUI. She also served 18 days in jail in late 2007 and early 2008 for violating her probation. She later told TV Guide that jail “was an amazing experience. I wouldn't take it back for anything.”
Khloé hit the slammer for a whopping three hours back in 2008. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating probation after a 2007 DUI arrest (she didn’t complete roadside cleanup duty and enroll in an alcohol education class), but just had a quick visit due to overcrowding issues.
Lauryn went to jail for three months in 2013 for tax evasion after she failed to pay federal taxes on her income earned between 2005 and 2007.
